Zina ( fornication & adultery)

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. It is narrated by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim and others in a sound Hadith that the Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: " Allah has written for Adam's son his share of Zina ( fornication & adultery) which he commits inevitably. The Zina of the eyes is the sight (to gaze at a forbidden thing), the Zina of the tongue is the talk, and the inner self wishes and desires and the private parts testify all this or deny it ". This Hadith indicates that looking at what Allah has forbidden is prohibited by the Shari'a. That is why, Allah has ordained on us to lower our gaze. Allah Says (Interpretation of meaning): (Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc) that is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts).[24:30-31]. This order to lower the gaze is for both the married and the single persons, male and female. There is no punishment stipulated by the Sharia for this kind of Zina in This Life. But, in the Last Day, it is a sin, which Allah punishes whoever commits it and does not repent from it unless Allah forgives him. Allah knows best.
