What is it?

Kinder friends at Kindergarten Tales, you will never believe what our class got to adopt... Teeny, tiny baby silkworms to raise. This what they looked like on Friday. We will have to send you an update because they eat, eat, eat like crazy and they have grown! We feed them mulberry leaves from mulberry trees. I am not quite sure who is climbing the tree next to get fresh leaves. I am just prayin' it's not me! I have vivid memories of the last mulberry tree climbing episode and it sure was NOT cute! And when I finally got out of that tree, I fell in a hole and twisted my ankle! So maybe I will spot this time around...any takers?

Good Morning!

I just couldn't resist sending this your way since Cinco de Mayo is on my mind. If you need yet another dessert to bring to a teacher luncheon, you should give this one a try or print it off for one of those hot days this summer. What about Lime Jell-o Poke cake? It's quick, it's easy and it can be made in a 9x13 pan and you can substitute your Jell-O flavors according to your get together theme! Now that is a smart teacher desert in a snap, so how about that?

This One Is For You Betty Crocker & Gooseberry Patch!

In honor of Betty Crocker and Gooseberry Patch being my first two followers on Twitter, I had to write this! I have been a fan of Betty Crocker since  my sister and I were baking in our Easy Bake Ovens when we were kids. So, imagine my surprise when I got notification that Betty was following me on Twitter! I have to say this was brilliant marketing but my childlike mind left that thought and I could just see my sister and I baking with our Easy Bake Ovens again. I have been a Betty Crocker fan since I was in Kindergarten. As I grew up, I became a fan of Gooseberry Patch. I love everything Gooseberry so I had to follow them too! And again I was surprised when they followed as well. It is still great marketing on their part but I choose to think of it a different way. Between Betty and Gooseberry they have helped me with so many teacher luncheons so I want to say Thanks. So, here's to you my first two Twitter fans! I totally love your stuff!

Sooo excited that I am ordering the CAFE book after working with The Daily 5 book this year. I thought it was a good time to start thinking of my summer reading list so I would be ready to make or gather materials for the coming school year. If you haven't ordered a copy of The Daily 5, you owe it to yourself to read about it and consider it! This has really shaped my teaching and helped my children this year more than anything else. And take a look at that fabulous CAFE board! I can't wait to start reading!
